Sold Out! KOLYADA: Ukrainian Christmas Carols

The Ukrainische Kapelle welcomes you to a musical evening where we present a lesser known landmark of Ukrainian culture - the musical tradition of Christmas celebrations. During the concert, the visitors inside will have the opportunity to donate for the medical care of the victims of the Russian war in Ukraine.

The Ukrainische Kapelle, conducted by Mykola Katerynchuk and Anna Varhun, will play Christmas carols - together with their friends:
- the Ukrainian vocal ensemble "SOLOWAY" (Berlin),
- the children's folk choir "DYVO" (Kyiv),
- the Lithuanian folk ensemble "Saulalė",
- as well as the Ukrainian jazz musician Ganna Gryniva.

With their music the recently founded Ukrainische Kapelle wants to support Ukrainian refugees and at the same time make Ukraine even better known to the world, especially to Germany.

The vocal project Ukrainische Kapelle unites not only professional musicians and amateurs, but also people for whom Berlin has become a home and those who found temporary refuge from the war here. Conductor Mykola Katerynchuk (Chernivtsi) worked as a music teacher, artistic director of the folklore ensemble Dzherelo and director of the church choir. The project founder and director Anna Varhun (Kherson) is an artist with many years of experience in solo and choral concerts in Ukraine and abroad, as well as in teaching singing to children and adults.
