The music theater piece development AQUARIUM embarks on a search for the questions of this time. River and abundance or the dream of a better humanity motivate theatrical and musical experiments with water, the eloquent battle of dualities, the exploration of the possibilities of singularity and group.
An aquarium. There, behind the glass, we sit and do not want to go out. We search on the bottom of our own sea and yet we are afraid of diving down. We cannot detach ourselves. Do we now want an animal-led or human-led world order? In our own inaction we remain, wailing against the glassy limits of our own possibilities. We remain locked up, a goldfish in a jar. Or is there something new to want after all?
Episodically, AQUARIUM plays through the stories: the possible and impossible figures behind the glass wall. They are like all of us: are animals, are mermaids, are fishermen, are divers, are sailors, garbage collectors, cashiers, do-gooders, drowning people, they dream of the future, of rebellion and yet they are afraid to swim under the surface.

The performance duo BaroqueBitches emerged on the street in 2015. With neon tulle, baroque wig and always a bit over the top, Claudia Roick and Nicole Tschaikin conquered streets, boats, bridges, trains, castles, clubs, bars and festivals (HorsLits Paris 2017, HorsLits Munich 2016/2018, Street Music Festivals Ludwigsburg 2017, Braunschweig 2017). They collaborated with baroque ensembles, beatboxers, pianists, accordionists and are always looking for new crossover adventures theatrically and musically. Their shows "BaroqueBitches On The Road" (2nd place at Freisprungfestival 2018) and "Dans le Cabaret" brought them to Paris, Munich, Berlin, Venice, Rome, Rostock, Schwerin, Greifswald and many more. Claudia Roick, meanwhile switched to acting, is project manager and also writes the lyrics. Together with her colleague Nicole Tschaikin, she works on transnational artistic concepts for new spoken and musical theater. For AQUARIUM, the artists collaborate with a diverse range of colleagues from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Bavaria, aiming to stay true to their crossover approach as well as their statewide networking efforts.
