FAIRY TALES FROM 1001 NIGHT

lautten compagney BERLIN

What do we know about the culture of the Orient that goes beyond the famous collection of fairy tales? Probably not that much. But that can be helped! Music from Egypt, Syria and Iran and its traces in early music from Europe are the topic of the evening.
Inspired by and in exchange with our Iranian guests, Sheida Kharazi and Alireza Mehdizadeh, percussionist Peter A. Bauer will not only tell fairy tales on this evening.

The lautten compagney is one of the most popular and creative German baroque ensembles. For three decades, the concerts under the artistic direction of Wolfgang Katschner have fascinated their audiences. For their program Timeless they were awarded the ECHO Klassik 2010 and in 2019 the OPUS Klassik.
