ensemble reflektor spielt Billie Eilish

The chamber orchestra ensemble reflektor transforms a multi-perspective view on empowerment into a concert program. The focus is on orchestral cover versions of four Billie Eilish songs, set for orchestra by accomplished arranger Ian Anderson. The wordless arrangements form a symphonic bow to the artist whose powerful "f***-it" attitude gives feminist struggle in Generation Z its own unique artistic form. Alternating with the songs will be chamber music by American composers Florence Price and Valerie Coleman, both of whom combine the music of their African American roots with classical compositional styles in their work. Romantic composer Emilie Mayer's Sixth Symphony concludes the concert, which, in concert with Billie Eilish's songs, tells a genre-spanning story of self-determination for diverse women.
