The opera as an independent organism, a body whose cry establishes a direct line with the Big Bang. Inscribed in it is memory, our own, that of our environment and of human history, asking: do we even want to be who we have become?

Human being is not born out of nothing. They and their (environment) are part of an ancient chain of genes and evolution, always in motion and development, and at the same time a temporary but important element of the future. The bodies save not only the memories of personal experience, but also those of this long journey. THE BODY MEMORY OPERA wants to give space to these memories and thus pose the question whether we still want to be who we have become? An independent organism is to be created, which contains the body, fans it out in detail and lets it speak.

In the search for the origin of what drives our bodies, the hierarchies of composition, libretto, direction, stage and ensemble are broken and new connections between bodies, artists and science are established.

After several artisticworks, when they already met in other constellations, THE BODY MEMORY OPERA is now the first joint work of Selina Thüring (direction) Juri de Marco (composition), Debo Kötting (libretto) and Anna Brotánková (stage/costume).
