All of the songs Kurt Weill composed for movies in Hollywood performed live in concert. Featuring clips and photos from all the films and with music by Weill never before performed - in Theater im Delphi, originally a cinema, where Weill may have seen a film while living in Berlin in the 1930s.
Weill composed for the film studios in the Golden Age of Hollywood, working with collaborators such as famed director Fritz Lang and movie stars George Raft, Sylvia Sidney, Fred MacMurray and Ava Gardner.
You and Me....Where Do We Go from Here?.... The River is Blue....One Touch of Venus....A Salute to France - an exciting array of film styles and stories: cool film noir, satirical comedy in vivid Technicolor, a love story in the Spanish Civil War, the goddess of love comes alive and the liberation of France in wartime.
Framed with clips of scenes and dialogue from each film, Weill’s brilliant songs and dance numbers from Hollywood movies are gathered together and performed for the first time in a unique live event. Included is music never performed before in public - composed by Weill but cut from the final film release.
