With Dystopie II, Ensemble consord addresses the questions of our time: In the face of war, climate crisis and social tensions, what does it mean to remain human and carry the ‘fire’ of hope forward? In Westphalia-Lippe specially produced silent film shots are accompanied by new music by Helena Cánovas Parés, performed live by consord, as well as a musical collage of Renaissance music, contemporary works and improvisations. Together with director and actor Albrecht Hirche and composer Helena Cánovas Parés, an interdisciplinary musical theatre experience will be created, based on motifs from Cormac McCarthy's novel The Road.
