Sometime in the late 1980s: Struggling filmmaker Mark and musician Roger face the challenges of eviction, love and illness. Their lives become closely intertwined with those of their friends, including Collins and Angel, both HIV-positive. While Mark's ex-girlfriend Maureen and her new partner Joanne prepare for a protest against their landlord Benny's gentrification efforts, Rogers cautiously approaches their neighbour Mimi, a dancer with a troubled past.
