Duo Zamengomercier
Picture: Erwin Fonseca
It begins with a sunny day, accompanied by birdsong and plenty of food. At the center of this perfect existence sits enthroned a large piano. However, a divine rule hovers over the immaculate, shiny black instrument, a holy decree: its keys must never be touched. Inspired by films, 1960s television series and rituals, “Lux aeterna” oscillates between solemnity and lightness, making the sound the protagonist. This requiem mass with its classical movements (Kyrie, Sanctus, Agnus Dei) and texts of mourning and remembrance raises profound questions: How can one lend sound to the sound barrier?
