BulCanto Chor Berlin | Adam Harzuf

A unique fusion of three different worlds: the Berlin choir of Bulgarian traditional, as well as Orthodox music BulCanto meets a contemporary dance choreography and the multitalented musician Adam Harzuf, inspired from the classical music of India.

The work "Bulcanto" led to the creation of the eponymous project choir BulCanto in 2019. This composition begins almost pagan with a prayer for rain, symbolizing fertility and the source of life, followed by the austere medieval monastic chant that represents eternity and the role of tradition. Boryana Velichkova, the conductor of the BulCanto choir, together with the singers will create a cycle of songs based on this existing composition. The musician Adam Harzuf will contribute musically to the pieces with elaborated improvisations with various instruments. He plays many instruments such as didgeridoo, singing bowls, dahola, frame drum, shruti box, which inspire with a sonorous, soothing, natural sound, making the two dancing bodies improvising on stage. A meditative journey begins.
