No, woman, no cry... but when they do?

"No, woman, no cry... but when they do?” is an artistic invitation to redefine our perception of women in our modern world. Even in childhood, there are few differences between girls and boys, both cry equally. But what happens when we grow up?

The piece is a well-founded dance investigation of the gender question in the frame of a multidisciplinary performance influenced by the art disciplines of dance, circus, theatre and music. It questions the traditional image of femininity in a physical, sarcastic and theatrical way. Seven women of different nationalities and age groups shed light on social roles, behaviour, expectations, and traditions.

What does it mean to be a woman these days? How does education, emancipation, equality, gender struggle and motherhood have an impact on femininity?

The piece is part of a trilogy and the quick-witted response to the men's piece "Big boys don't cry... but when they do?", choreographed in 2020.
