4RUDE

The latest Theatre-Butoh-Performance by 4RUDE deals with an invisible phenomenon - the existence of a "being" that you cannot touch, although it is real. Beauty and ugliness - violence and silence - moments of life and death are created through the dance of bodies.

The stage is a building that is doomed to decay after the last inhabitant has left it. Here is nothing but sealed past. And yet four performers tell of the existence of "being" right there. They impose physical limits on their bodies, which upset the habit of seeing.

The dance of the bodies with limited physical possibilities of movement will make time and also the changes in space perceptible. Through the energy in the moving bodies of the dancers, their flow (space) and speed (time) the "being" will become real.

Hikaru Inagawa and Maco direct and choreograph based on Butoh and classic Japanese body expression. It is their central artistic concept that space dances through the body, not through physical movement. In other words, it can be said that a dynamic space is created by the existence of a strong, present body.

4RUDE
The company 4RUDE was founded in 2005 by Hikaru Inagawa and Maco and since then has been on the road worldwide with their productions. 4RUDE is looking for an ideal form of expression and invents a spectacle without words. From elements of the theater and the butoh arise individual pieces of bodily movements that spring from innermost experiences. They have been developing this way of working and their vision for years, looking for a way into the deep, creating a unique stage language. The home base of the company is Berlin.
